For nearly 40 years, American Gateways has provided immigration legal services and advocacy to low-income immigrant individuals and families in Central Texas. With offices in Austin, San Antonio, and Waco, we provide exceptional legal services to low-income immigrants at no or low cost.

Summary:
​
The Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining the budgets and financial reporting for the organization’s various funding sources, including grants and contracts and private foundation support. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the co-Executive Directors in developing program budgets, preparing invoices, tracking spending by funding source, assuring appropriate expense allocations and appropriate compliance with fiscal controls.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor budgets and spending for programmatic grants and contracts

Prepare monthly and quarterly invoices for grants and contracts

Maintain staffing formulas and allocations to appropriate funding sources

Prepare budgets for grant and contract applications

Prepare monthly staff spending reports for grants and contracts

Assure timely submission and accuracy of financial reporting on grants and contracts

Assist Accountant with invoice payments and other QuickBooks duties as needed

Assist co-Executive Directors in preparing agency budgets and financial reporting

Assure compliance with all fiscal policies and procedures
Required Qualifications

Alignment with American Gateway’s mission

Strong mathematical abilities Experience in developing and/or monitoring multiple budgets

Experience in managing budgets of over $2M

Experience in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software

Experience in Excel Detail and task oriented
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in working with non-profits or government entities

Education or experience in accounting

Experience in working in a collaborative, rapidly changing work environment
HYBRID WORK PLAN: This position will require working remotely (2 days) and in-office (3 days) at the assigned work location. 30-40 hours/week:
SALARY RANGE: Full-time salary range $60,000 - $80,000; position may be pro-rated based on hours.
