American Gateways provided legal services benefiting 4,587 persons in 2009. Another 6,047
people attended one of our outreach and educational presentations, including thousands who
attended a legal orientation presentation or pro se workshop that were given several times each
week at the immigrant detention facility in Pearsall. These were increases of 25% over
the previous year for persons benefiting from direct legal services and 41% for persons
educated.
American Gateways served people from over 70 countries throughout the world in 2009.
